Quick catch up...

Okay, so the moment i've been waiting for... haha! finally getting my act together and updated this and some of you on my whereabouts these days....

THE SHORT
Dan, the boys and i sold our MN home in Dec 2007 and joined Dan (after 9 months) in Colorado! anyhow, planted firmly in Silt, CO, we're homeowners and meeting new people and thoroughly enjoying a Colorado summer! Visitors are highly encouraged! By the way, Dan's a cabinet-maker/shop mgr at Aspen Custom Woodworking in downtown Aspen. I work as a Sr. companion for an 86 yr old gentleman with alzheimers and for a friend's amazing business (AD ALERT) check it out at http://www.momspit.com/ by doing her shipments for Amazon.com orders and some retailer mailings, etc. . Andy and Noah will start 2nd grade August 18th.

THE LONG
Dan and I married in 1995, lived in MN for the past 12 years, then gave up on the business owner life...

Finally sold the house after 14 months and lots of price reductions, phew! Thrilled to go to Colorado (Via Pennsylvania detour - Dan was there working for 5 of 9 months...) thankful to get out from under it and so excited to be a family again! Only saw Dan once every 4 wks or so..., but boys and i were busy working, school, etc. and tried not to count the days gone by.

Dan is working (loves every minute of it) in downtown Aspen (not too glamarous, his shop's in a parking garage with other businesses without storefronts..) but the jobs and drive in/out are spectacular and he's truly appreciated by his boss. (Boss = Steve from New Zealand, a little taller than i am and when he has his sunglasses on, reminds me of Bono from U2! haha!) Dan is loving what he does, which was the whole point of our move - to love what you do well, to be family, to simplify, to play, to scale back. I love him for the sacrifices he's made to get us to this place.

Where are we? Silt, CO is one hour east of Grand Junction and 15 minutes west of Glenwood Springs, right off of I-70. It's easy to find but the details people ask/want is this: How far from Denver and Aspen? I think Denver's about 2 hours in the summer and 5 some winter days! haha! and Aspen summer drive is just over an hour, winter, not sure yet... Coming for a visit? Look into flying into Grand Junction or Eagle/Vail instead! Aspen, too, actually, i'm surprised at some flight prices! Anyhow, we're in major fun land for any season and would love to have anyone out to our little house, with or without kids, and whether we've heard from/seen you in weeks/months/years! We're not picky and living somewhere that people actually WANT to visit (vs. Minnesota), we'll be glad to have you! I'll even keep the kids happy while adults play!

Hi Kay,

It's fun to see pictures of your house. It looks really cute. I like the patio out back.

Love,
April
