"When pigs fly" it will all get done!
Her family visited over Memorial Day in our new CO home and brought this housewarming gift! haha! He's DARLING isn't he!!?
Anyhow, just thought about how so often we all feel like it really will be "when pigs fly" when our lives take a turn for the better, or the kids become perfect, or the house is just the way we want it, etc... Naaahhhh... not really. It's the little things that prove that pigs can fly - on occasion.
Like when i volunteered at the little public school the boys just started this week and heard uplifting music playing over loudspeakers in the lunch room! Or see the staff reciting the importance of Trustworthiness, Respectfulness, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship at the assembly. Then they sing a song (all 400+ kids) that lists all of the fruits of the Spirit in the lyrics!! WHAT???!!
I was thrilled about a few surprises in public schooling that i never would've thought would be a part of their days there... Pigs don't fly often, but when they do we really should be thankful and take notice in our daily doings...
Other than starting 2nd grade, the boys also celebrated their 8th bday this past July! We had a sports party and had 12 new friends attend at the baseball field below our house... what fun to see so many come since we only got here mid-May! (Again, flying pigs ).
They had a great little party and mom tried to make sports balls cupcakes, without official black icing, it was difficult! haha..
They got a little dirtbike, too and have loved learning how to ride with Daddy as teacher.... mom just watches and holds her breath! They're really good, actually, and are in second gear (out of 3)! No trails yet and the boots and chest protector (courtesy of Ebay) are on their way! They've done great with sharing the one bike and enjoy cheering each other on! Here's some pics... enjoy.
